The Wanderlust actress apparently joked at a pre-Oscars party on Feb 24, that she and Theroux would split without an imminent proposal, adding that they had brought a dog into their home as "a test run for kids".
"We're constantly laughing," The Mirror quotes her as saying, "Now we've got our new baby things are getting serious."
"We have new responsibilities. (The dog is) like a test run for kids, I guess, although hopefully kids are easier to house-train.
"Things are fabulous, I'm happy. If he's not got down on one knee or we're not married, by the end of the year, it's over."
A friend of Aniston said: "Jennifer has never been so happy romantically. She and Justin have discussed their long-term future and both agreed that they love the idea of settling down. "The onus now is on Justin to pop the question."
Aniston and Theroux were first romantically linked in May 2011.
Yes, the American's sweetheart landed the honour by beating the likes of Megan Fox, Cameron Diaz and even Angelina Jolie, who reportedly stole Brad Pitt from her a few years ago.
With the exception of Aniston, 42, none of the aforementioned names is anywhere near the top five. Following Aniston is Madonna, Britney Spears (who just turned 30 years old), Marilyn Monroe and Raquel Welch.
Just in case you are curious who Aniston deems as the hottest woman of all time, here's her reply: "It's a tie between Bridgitte Bardot and Gloria Steinem. But if I had to choose one, I'd say Gloria because, well, she's the full package. That's sexy."
So what does the hottest woman of all time want in a man - or in this case, her current boyfriend Justin Theroux? "The sexiest thing about a man—other than abs—is if he can make me laugh, has compassion, kindness and an accurately sized ego," she told the magazine.
One Hollywood director was fortunate (or unfortunate?) enough to witness it though, the actress told Elle magazine.
She recalled throwing a chair at him after seeing what he did to a crew member.
"I threw a chair at a director. It wasn't my proudest moment. He was treating a script supervisor horribly...When the director walked in, I threw a chair at him. I missed, of course. I was like, 'You can't speak to people like that.' I can't tolerate it."
Luckily, she didn’t do that to the interviewer, who touched on what might be a touchy issue for her – babies.
Though she’s apparently reluctant to answer that, she’s sweet and polite in her reply: "There's no desperation. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. I'm at peace with whatever the plan is. But will you hate me if I say I don't talk about my relationship?"
But he spent much of a TV interview on morning talk show "Today" trying to explain an earlier remark that suggested he found his five-year marriage to Aniston boring, and that he is now a "satisfied man" in his relationship with Angelina Jolie.
The 47-year-old Pitt said in a profile by Parade magazine posted on the publication's website on Thursday that he is now a "satisfied man" in his relationship with Angelina Jolie.
The "Moneyball" star compares his new life with Jolie, with whom he is raising 6 kids, favorably to the roughly five years he spent married to Aniston.
"It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself," Pitt told Parade.
"I think that my marriage (to Aniston) had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't," he added.
Pitt and "Friends" star Aniston were married in 2000, and he has largely avoided talking about his ex-wife since their 2005 divorce.
In the magazine interview, Pitt also said he spent the 1990s "trying to hide out" from celebrity. "I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out," he said in the interview.
Although Pitt and Oscar winner Jolie have been together for over five years, the actor has said they will not marry until gay marriage is widely legalized. He is sticking to that.
"We'll get married when everyone can," Pitt told Parade.
The Parade interview with Pitt, who stars in the upcoming baseball drama "Moneyball," is being published in this Sunday's edition of the magazine.
