Blizzard has posted the Black Soulstone cinematic which premiered during the Blizzcon 2011 opening ceremony. As Chris Metzen said, this version is slightly edited (to remove some story details) from that which we’ll see in the game. It’s got story info galore as it is, with Leah facing Azmodan in some sort of dream/vision/nightmare, where the Lesser Evil shares his plans for global domination.

Some 1.3 million e-mail addresses and encrypted passwords were stolen from the Sega Pass network, the company said. However, Sega assured that credit card numbers of the network’s users were not affected by the attack, which came nearly two months after Sony Corp’s PlayStation Network also fell prey to hackers. Sega apologized for the service stoppage, and admitted that it is not sure when the network will be back online. “We are deeply sorry for causing trouble to our customers. We want to work on strengthening security,” spokeswoman Yoko Nagasawa said.
The Sega Pass hit continues the recent spike of cyber attacks against major companies and organizations. Only last month, the International Monetary Fund and Citigroup were also attacked by hackers. Citigroup said around 360,000 accounts were affected by the attack.

The reboot of a 2002 first-person shooter video game from Electronic Arts (EA) gets banned from all locations of US military bases worldwide.
Medal of Honor will allow players to be the good guys and the bad guys. If you are playing the bad guys, then you get the opportunity to pretend that you are a Taliban fighter killing American soldiers in Afghanistan.
The families left by those who died in the real-life combat did not like this part of the game’s features.
“I don’t see how shooting soldiers based on real Americans is entertainment while people are dying every day for this country. How can they say it’s OK for someone to play the Taliban? You’ll have people sitting at home, drinking beer, shooting at American soldiers, maybe missing, then starting over. Well, Ken didn’t have a chance to start over,” said Karen Meredith, the mother of Lieutenant Ken Ballard who died in the field last 2004.
The commander of the Army & Air Force Exchange, Major General Bruce Casella, said that the game was pulled out of sensitivity concerns for soldiers, airmen and their families around the world.
British Defense Secretary Liam Fox also asked British retailers not to sell the game.
EA meanwhile said that the video games are just another form of art like movies and books. They said that it is not fair that films and books did not get the same attention as video games. The film The Hurt Locker was cited as an example. The film actually won several awards including Best Picture at the Academy Awards early this year.
The game is due for release on October 12.

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is a military science fiction real-time strategy video game currently under development by Blizzard Entertainment as a sequel to the award-winning 1998 video game StarCraft. Set in the 26th century in a distant part of the Milky Way galaxy, the game is built around three species: the Terrans, human exiles from Earth; the Zerg, a race of insectoid genetic assimilators; and the Protoss, a species with vast psionic power. Wings of Liberty will focus on the Terrans specifically, while the expansions Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void will focus on the Zerg and Protoss, respectively. The game is expected to be set four years after the events of StarCraft: Brood War, and follow the exploits of Jim Raynor as he leads an insurgent group against the autocratic Terran Dominion. The game will include old characters from the original game, as well as introduce new characters and locations to the franchise. 46WFFFVPSM6C
Blizzard has scrapped its Real ID system.
Announced earlier this month, the system aimed to curb rule-breaking by showing real names instead of anonymous usernames on its forums.
Users said that the idea was an invasion of privacy and could lead to online scams, and responded by posting information about Blizzard employees found using their real names.
Co-founder Mike Morhaime has since announced that the firm has listened to user feedback and will not implement the scheme.
"We've been constantly monitoring the feedback you've given us, as well as internally discussing your concerns about the use of real names on our forums. As a result of those discussions, we've decided at this time that real names will not be required for posting on official Blizzard forums," he said.
"It's important to note that we still remain committed to improving our forums. Our efforts are driven 100% by the desire to find ways to make our community areas more welcoming for players and encourage more constructive conversations about our games."
However, the scheme will still be optional for in-game chat in World Of Warcraft and StarCraft II, which the publisher believes will be a "powerful communications" tool for players.
StarCraft II launches on PC on July 27.

Blizzard today began sending out invitations to try the massively multiplayer role-playing game's upcoming expansion, Cataclysm.
Selected individuals who opted in to playtest the add-on via their Battle.net accounts are now receiving invitations, and Blizzard says it will add more week by week. Those interested in getting in on the action can create a beta profile on their Beta Profile Settings on Battle.net and hope for the best.
Blizzard says beta testers can help shape the final product by providing feedback to the studio in the form of reporting bugs, commenting on balance issues, and contributing other constructive feedback.
Cataclysm is World of Warcraft's third expansion, following 2007's The Burning Crusade and the following year's Wrath of the Lich King. The new add-on, available both as a boxed retail product and as a download, is due out by the end of 2010. It brings new zones, ups the level cap to 85, and adds the Goblin and Worgen races to the popular MMORPG.
In other Blizzard news, WOW lead designer Tom Chilton hinted at the possibility of the game becoming free-to-play, though he said no immediate plans are in motion.

Back in the early 1990s, the now-defunct studio Microprose captured the imagination of nerds everywhere with a tactical PC strategy game called X-Com: UFO Defense. The game put you in control of a squad of human freedom fighters opposing an alien invasion by fighting harrowing tactical battles on randomly generated maps against unknown numbers and varieties of aliens. Then it had you take the spoils of war (namely, alien technology) and use them to research powerful experimental weapons to bring into combat. Years later, 2K Marin, the studio responsible for BioShock 2, is now working on XCOM, a first-person shooter that will attempt to include elements of that original game but will also focus on fast-paced shooting action and character-driven stories.
The new game takes place during an idealized version of the American 1950s--a time of innocence, white picket fences, and burgeoning conspiracy theories. Your character is special agent William Carter, the head of XCOM, a secret government agency specifically put together to combat what appears to be an alien invasion by researching every reported alien sighting, rescuing civilians whenever possible, and collecting intel on the aliens that can be converted to research. That research can then be used to gain access to those wonderful, wonderful experimental weapons.
While we've seen very little of the game so far, we're both comforted to hear that the 2K Marin team includes many loyal fans of the original X-Com, and we're also looking forward to seeing where the team takes the game from here. XCOM is scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 and PC next year.
This stunning Wild West epic raises the bar for open world action games, and stakes its claim as one of the most engaging games this year. John Marston is a partly reformed outlaw in America in the year 1911. When federal agents threaten his family, Marston is sent across the American frontier to help bring the rule of law. He must kill or capture his former gang members, including his old 'friend' and gang leader Bill Williamson or his family will pay the ultimate price.
Red Dead Redemption gives the player a large, open world environment allowing the player to move freely. Players on foot can walk, talk, shoot, kill, ride, run, interact with the environment, and combat enemies with firearms. Different breeds of horses are the main forms of transportation. Swimming is not an option, as the protagonist John Marston cannot swim and will drown if the player ventures too far into a body of water (though he is able to wade where the water is shallow enough).
The open world environment allows players to choose how they want to play. Storyline missions are for progress. Along with the main storyline, players can take part in random events they encounter as they explore the West. These include public hangings, ambushes, pleas for assistance, and dangerous animal attacks. Players can also take part in optional side activities ranging from standoffs, gambling, and hunting animals for pelts and meat.
Red Dead Redemption makes use of a morality system where players have the ability to gain positive or negative 'honor'. Some of the ways to gain positive honor include taking an outlaw alive instead of killing him, or saving a kidnapped innocent. Negative honor can be attained for committing crimes including killing and/or robbing civilians. This works along with another system, 'fame,' showing and governing how people react based on Marston's honor status.
Red Dead Redemption's world is a far easier one to get sidetracked in than most. That's because in addition to the dozens of excellent and varied story missions, there are countless optional undertakings to enjoy--most of which offer some tangible reward in the form of money, weapons, or reputation. While you're in town, you might choose to gamble at card and dice tables or tear a wanted poster from the wall and do some bounty hunting, for example. And when you're in the middle of nowhere, opportunities for gunfights and the like have a habit of presenting themselves or even forcing themselves upon you.
Random strangers in need of help can show up at any time, and while it's a little jarring to find two or three strangers in the same predicament back-to-back, most of their requests are varied and fun for the short time that they take to complete. You might be called upon to retrieve a stolen wagon, to collect herbs, or even to rescue someone being hanged from a tree. There's no penalty for ignoring strangers, but when you help them you collect a small reward and become a little more famous in the process.
Combat and gunplay are major parts of the game. Gunfights in Red Dead Redemption are conducted using a third-person system. The player can take cover, target a specific person, blindfire, and free aim. Individual body parts can also be targeted, as to take targets down non-lethally. When the player shoots an enemy, the game engine uniquely creates the AI reactions and movements. John Marston has an arsenal of period-accurate weapons to choose from; these include revolvers, lever or bolt-action rifles, knives, explosives, lassos, mounted gatling guns, shotguns, and cannons.
A combat feature that Marston can utilize is the "Dead-Eye" targeting system. "Dead-Eye" is used in a bullet time-like manner, allowing the player to slow down the world to place a precise shot or paint in multiple shots on the body parts of one or multiple enemies. When the targeting sequence ends, Marston will fire in extremely quick succession on targeted people.
Red Dead Redemption will include online multiplayer with a maximum of 16 players per session.
Every multiplayer game, both free-for-all and team based, will begin with a Mexican standoff. Survivors of the standoff will be able to move to any part of the battlefield in preparation for respawning enemies. Crates in the environment will contain extra weapons, ammo, as well as recharge Dead-Eye powers, which has all the features of the single player version except for slow motion.
Players can level up and complete weapon challenges giving rewards such as new character models, golden weapon skins, and new mount breeds.
Both regular and team versions of Shootout mode follows a traditional deathmatch scenario where players or teams must accumulate the most kills. Many Capture the Flag variants are also available. Hold Your Own is a traditional capture the flag, where each team has their own bag of gold to defend from the enemy team. Grab The Bag has one team attacking and the other team defending; the attackers goal is to grab the bag and return to base, while the defenders must stop them in the act. Gold Rush is a free-for-all variant, trying to grab and keep as many bags, spawned all across the map, as possible.
Like Grand Theft Auto IV's free mode, Red Dead Redemption has its own free roaming mode. All players in the server can form and join player parties, named "posses", of up to eight players and taking part in activities such as attacking computer-controlled gang hideouts or other player posses, go hunting, and create in-server matches.
Other multiplayer gamemodes in Red Dead Redemption feature up to 16 players in one game.

BioWare continues to support Dragon Age: Origins with its latest downloadable content, Darkspawn Chronicles which is scheduled for release on Xbox Live and PC on May 18. You now fight as the Darkspawn! The city of Denerim, jewel of Ferelden, girds itself for war. As a hurlock vanguard, you alone hold the power to make thralls of your fellow darkspawn and drive them into the heat of battle.
The Darkspawn Chronicles is set in an alternate history where the player hero died in the joining ceremony, never becoming a Grey Warden and never saving the world from the blight. As such, it doesn't make sense to carry over characters and story choices to and from the original game. That said, there are achievements and trophies to unlock, and one of those, once unlocked, will spawn a new sword called Blightblood into your character's inventory in Dragon Age: Origins and Awakening.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is an upcoming 2010 first-person shooter video game developed by Treyarch and published by Activision for release on November 9, 2010. Players take the role of a Black Ops operative who will be involved in missions behind enemy lines. Missions will take place in a variety of locations, including Cuba, the Arctic, and Vietnam.
Halo: Reach is an upcoming first-person shooter video game for the Xbox 360. It is part of the Halo series, and it is scheduled for release during the fall of 2010. The game takes place in the year 2552, where humanity is locked in a war with the alien Covenant. Players control Noble 6, a member of an elite supersoldier squad, during a battle for the human world of Reach.
The single-use equipment system is replaced in Reach by reusable and persistent armor abilities which remain with a player until they are replaced. Among the abilities are a jetpack, active camo, sprint, and "armor lock", which makes the player invincible in exchange for the loss of mobility. In addition to tweaks and changes to existing weapons from the Halo series, Reach features new weapons fulfilling various combat roles.
Reach will feature multiplayer support via Xbox Live, System Link, and Split screen. Players will have the option of choosing either Spartan or Covenant Elite for multiplayer modes. Elites are faster, have better shields, and have a unique "evade" rolling ability, and Spartans will have the option of, "Sprint, Jetpack, Armour Lock and Active Camo" as their chosen armour ability. Reach also features "loadouts", a feature allows players to pick a predefined choice of weaponry at spawn. The veto system has been improved, allowing players to vote for their preferred map and game mode out of a few choices. In order to give multiplayer a longer lasting appeal, players are now rewarded with "credits", which players can spend on armor customizations. These effects are only visual, and don't change the gameplay of the players in any way. The amount of credits a player receives after a match is determined by the player's performance in the match.
Reach introduces a number of new multiplayer modes, among standard multiplayer modes such as deathmatch (called "Slayer") and king of the hill. In "Headhunter", players drop skulls upon death, which other players can pick up and deposit at special zones for points. When a player dies all their accumulated skulls fall away as well. "Stockpile" has teams race to collect neutral flags, holding them at capture points every minute for points. "Generator Defense" pits three Spartans versus three Elites. The Elites' objective is to destroy three generators, while Spartans defend the installation. After every round the players switch roles. "Invasion" is a six versus six mode. The gametype pits Spartans against Elites; as the game progresses, new loadouts, vehicles, and areas of the map become open.

Super Street Fighter IV is a 2010 fighting game produced by Capcom. It is an updated version of Street Fighter IV and has been said to mark the definitive end of the fourth installment of the Street Fighter series. Super Street Fighter IV adds ten characters to the original character roster from Street Fighter IV, bringing the total to 35, all of which are unlocked from the start. The added characters include eight characters from previous Street Fighter games, as well as two fighters who are brand new to the series.
Some of the changes, such as the introduction of a second user-selectable ultra combo per character, new online battle modes, and fresh animated cinematics that bookend each storyline, are obvious, but plenty of work has also been done under the hood, away from prying eyes. Each character has been rebalanced to maintain a level playing field; for example, Sagat's Tiger Shot damage has received a minor reduction, while Ryu's fierce Shoryuken now lands two hits instead of one. For a game as ferociously contested online and offline as Street Fighter IV, these fine adjustments are just as important as introducing new fighters to the already well-populated roster.
Two all-new characters to the series. The first, Juri, is a young South Korean female Taekwondo fighter who works for Seth's organization, S.I.N. Juri has an energy-boosting device implanted inside her left eye called the "Feng Shui Engine", which provides her with time-warping abilities.
The second, Hakan, is a Turkish oil wrestler who seeks to prove that Turkish oil wrestling is the greatest fighting style on earth.
Most of the online portion of Street Fighter IV has received an overhaul in this new Super version. If you remember, when Street Fighter IV was first released, only Ranked and Player matches were available online. The point system in that game was also problematic, because it encouraged players to only use their best fighters in Ranked contests and punished experimentation. Capcom sidestepped that issue in Super Street Fighter IV by implementing two point systems.
The gameplay is fast, fun and easy to dig into, and deep enough so that you're always discovering new ways to chain combos and improve your skills. Whether you're a franchise veteran or a total newcomer, you can't go wrong with Super Street Fighter IV.

Gears of War 3 or GoW 3 is an upcoming third-person shooter video game developed by Epic Games, published by Microsoft Games Studios and due for release on Xbox 360 in April 2011. Eighteen months after the fall of the last human city the war against the Locust rages on. Meanwhile, deep beneath the surface, a fearsome new threat is infecting the planet from within. With survivors scattered and civilization in ruins, time is running out for Marcus and his comrades as they fight to save the human race. According to Cliff Bleszinski, the game will "answer the majority of the questions that players have about the history of the world and what's going on". The story is being written by noted Star Wars Expanded Universe novel author Karen Traviss, who has authored two Gears novels and is working on a third.
According to its creators, StarCraft II is designed to be the "ultimate competitive real-time strategy game", building on the successes enjoyed by its predecessor, StarCraft. It features the return of the three races from the original game—Protoss, Terran, and Zerg; Blizzard states these are the only playable races in the game. StarCraft II is also designed to focus more heavily on the multiplayer aspect, when compared to the original StarCraft. The changes include overall improvement in Battle.net, a new competitive "ladder" system for ranked games and new matchmaking mechanics—designed to "match-up" players of equal skill levels. In addition, the replay function, which allows players to record and review past games, is being improved. Blizzard has also stated they have made some changes to the game that were suggested by fans.

Units
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty features approximately the same number of units as the original game. Some units from the original game are returning, some featuring new upgrades and abilities. For example, the Protoss Zealot, a melee unit from the original game, now has the ability to dash forward and quickly reach nearby enemies as a refinement of their speed upgrade from the original. Other units have been replaced or removed entirely. Other changes to unit design have been inspired by story events in StarCraft and its expansion, Brood War, replacing old units with new or renamed versions which sport different attributes and abilities.
Units in StarCraft II have new abilities, compared to the original, that encourage more complex interaction with the game environment. Among these are the inclusion of units that can traverse varying levels of terrain, or have the ability to teleport short distances. Some Protoss units can be warped in to pylon-powered areas using the Warp Gate, a slight modification of the existing building called the Gateway. StarCraft II's campaign will also have exclusive units which would only be playable in the campaign and not in the multiplayer modes of the game. These mostly consist of units which have been scrapped from development such as the Terran Cobra as well as various returning units from the original StarCraft such as the Terran Goliath, Wraith and Vulture.
