Adele just went M.I.A. An angry Adele gave the middle finger at the Brit Awards for music Tuesday night in London, two weeks after rapper M.I.A. gave the same obscene gesture at the Super Bowl halftime show. It happened as Adele, 23, was picking up the best album award to go with her solo female honor and was giving her acceptance speech. "I am so proud to be British and to be flying the flag," she was saying when host James Cordon interrupted her to introduce 90s British pop band Blur. The crowd booed and Adele digitally expressed herself.

British pop star Adele has vowed to spit at her estranged dad, Mark Evans if she ever sees him again.
"I was actually ready to start trying to have a relationship with him. He's f**king blown it. He will never hear from me again," the Grammy winner told Vogue US.
Evans spoke to a tabloid last year, suggesting that his famous daughter has issues with men because of him.
"It makes me angry! To come back after 10 years and be like, 'Maybe her problem with men comes down to me'. It's like, 'F**k off! How dare you comment on my life?' It makes my blood boil," Adele said.
The Rolling In The Deep hitmaker strongly believed that her dad was paid to do the interview.
"There's consequences other than just getting a bit of f**king money that lasts you half a year. It blows my mind. 'I love her so much.' Really? Why are you telling me that through a newspaper? If I ever see him I will spit in his face."
Adele's dad left her when she was three years old due to alcoholism.

On Sunday, Adele collected the largest haul of Grammys ever won in a single night by a British female singer. But aside from the awards she received from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States, the 23-year-old pop-soul diva has racked up yet another coveted honor – the cover of Vogue.
Adele looks gorgeous on the March 2012 issue of the magazine in an image, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, meant to be sexy in a glamorous way. Apart from the cover featuring the Rolling in the Deep singer with windswept hair and in a low-cut black lace top, there’s a wide variety of other photos inside. The article, written by Jonathan Van Meter, is also impressive. It explains why Adele is loved and admired by millions of people: she’s just so down-to-earth and real.
In the interview, the British songstress reveals that her ex-boyfriend changed her life in ways she never imagined, and she’s never writing a breakup record again. Here are some excerpts taken from the fashion bible.
On her ex: “You know, he was amazing. He was great. But it was never going to work. And for ages I was like, ‘As if he deserves any f***ing kudos for inspiring my record.’”
On her current boyfriend, Simon Konecki: “He’s wonderful. He’s proud of me, but he don’t care about what I do or what other people think. He looks after me. I don’t think I would have gotten through the recovery for my surgery if it hadn’t been for him.”
On awards shows: “I hate the red carpet. I don’t feel insecure, I just feel like, Oh, I don’t want to do this. I literally get a stomach cramp. At the VMA’s last year I felt really out of my comfort zone because there were so many superstars there. But that’s been the case from day one. I never feel like, Oh, yeah, I should be here. And I was missing my best friend’s hen night. So I was a bit bitter that I wasn’t there, to be perfectly honest.”
On her favorite artist, Beyoncé: “She’s been a huge and constant part of my life as an artist since I was about ten or eleven. I love how all of her songs are about empowerment. Even when she’s married and Jay-Z put a ring on it, she releases ‘Single Ladies.’ Go get yours. Go get what you deserve. I think she’s really inspiring. She’s beautiful. She’s ridiculously talented, and she is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met.”

Grammy-winning singer and actress Whitney Houston, one of the most talented performers of her generation who lived a turbulent personal life and admitted drug use, died on Saturday in a Beverly Hills hotel room. She was 48.
A Beverly Hills police officer told reporters they were called to the Beverly Hilton, in Los Angeles, at around 3:20 p.m. PST and that emergency personnel found Houston's body in a fourth-floor room, and she was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m.
"She has been positively identified by friends and family (who) were with her at the hotel, and next of kin have already been notified," Lieutenant Mark Rosen told reporters.
Police said there were no obvious signs of criminal intent at the scene and her death is under investigation.
Houston was in Los Angeles for the Grammy Awards, the music industry's biggest honors program that will take place on Sunday night. She died hours before she was expected to perform at record producer Clive Davis's annual pre-Grammy party on Saturday, which is held at the Beverly Hilton. Houston, inspired by soul singers in her New Jersey family, including mother Cissy Houston and cousins Dionne Warwick and the late Dee Dee Warwick, as well as her godmother Aretha Franklin, became one of the most celebrated female singers of all time, taking multiple Emmy, Grammy and Billboard Music awards. STELLAR CAREER, PERSONAL TROUBLES
Her popularity soared in the 1980s and 1990s with consecutive No. 1 hits including the smash single "I Will Always Love You," from the soundtrack of the feature film "The Bodyguard," in which she starred.
She also appeared in "Waiting to Exhale (1995) and The Preacher's Wife (1996)."
By the early 1990s, Houston had become the queen of pop music, achieving great critical and commercial acclaim, but her personal life was becoming troubled. In 1992 she married singer Bobby Brown, who had a bad-boy reputation, and during their 14 years together had a tumultuous relationship fueled by drugs.
In 2000, she and Brown were stopped at an airport in Hawaii and security guards discovered marijuana in their luggage. The pair also starred in reality TV series, "Being Bobby Brown," which painted an often unflattering portrait of the pair.
The last 10 years of Houston's life were dominated by drug use, rumors of relapses and trips to rehab. In a 2002 TV interview, she admitted using marijuana, cocaine, alcohol and prescription drugs.
She launched a comeback tour in 2009 and in April 2010 she called media reports she was using drugs again "ridiculous." In May 2011, Houston enrolled in a drug and alcohol rehab program.
Reactions came pouring in from fans and friends in the music industry.
"I am absolutely heartbroken at the news of Whitney's passing," legendary music producer Quincy Jones said in a statement. "... I always regretted not having had the opportunity to work with her. She was a true original and a talent beyond compare. I will miss her terribly."
Neil Portnow, chief executive of the Recording Academy that gives out the Grammys, called her "one of the world's greatest pop singers of all time who leaves behind a robust musical soundtrack spanning the past three decades."
Pop star Rihanna posted on Twitter "No words, just tears," and rapper Nicki Minaj tweeted "Jesus Christ, not Whitney Houston. Greatest of all time."

The stars are aligning to pay tribute to the late Leslie Carter.
Though she may not have been the biggest star of the Carter family, she nevertheless is getting touchingly remembered by those close not only to her, but to her brothers, Nick Carter and Aaron Carter.
Leading off the tributes is none other than the family of Lindsay Lohan—LiLo, lest we forget, infamously dated Aaron in her early Hollywood days.
MORE: Coroner examining Leslie Carter's body
"The Lohan family sends there love to the Carter family xo," mom Dina tweeted earlier today.

It may seem like an unlikely body art for Justin Bieber to have but a big tattoo of Jesus’ face on his left calf fits the 17-year-old pop sensation’s religious theme.
The new ink job marks the third tattoo for the singer, who has a small bird on his left hip and a Hebrew script of Jesus’ name on his rib cage to match his father’s.
Paparazzi caught the Biebs showing off the tat during a trip to Venice Beach and another time at an outing to Shakey’s Pizza with his dad and some friends.
The Biebster has never been one to shy away from religion.
"I'm a Christian, I believe in God, I believe that Jesus died on a cross for my sins," he told The Associated Press last year.
"I believe that I have a relationship and I'm able to talk to him and really, he's the reason I'm here, so I definitely have to remember that. As soon as I start forgetting, I've got to click back and be like, you know, this is why I'm here." Girlfriend Selena Gomez has yet to comment.

The "Baby" singer surprised his childhood friend Ryan Butler with a brand new ride for Christmas, and Butler couldn't help but share the news. "Justin got me a present. #swag!!!," Butler tweeted Sunday, along with a picture of the Mustang convertible. While Bieber remained mum on his own Twitter regarding the gift, the singer did tweet about how much he's enjoyed spending the holidays with his family in Canada. "Spending time with family—feels really good," Bieber wrote. Merry Christmas, indeed.

Lady Gaga is being sued by her former personal assistant, according to reports.
TMZ claim that the singer’s ex-employee Jennifer O'Neil is suing her for $380,000.
She says she is owed payment for 7,168 hours of overtime.
O'Neil alleges she had to give the singer a towel when she showered and served as a personal alarm clock for her.
She also claims that Gaga expected her to working from the "earliest waking hour" and wanted her duties to extend to "stadiums, private jets, fine hotel suites, yachts, ferries, trains and tour buses".
O'Neil alleges that the schedule meant that she was unable to take breaks "or even at times sleep".
However, a representative for Lady Gaga has refuted O'Neil's allegations and insisted they are "completely without merit".

Finnish police say they detained Adam Lambert after he assaulted people who tried to break up a fight between himself and his boyfriend in downtown Helsinki.

A recent trip to Costa Rica hit a sour note when Miley Cyrus' fans started feeling a little too entitled.
While trying to board a helicopter with boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, the singer stopped to pose for photos before telling Hemsworth they had to get going.
As the 19-year-old turned to walk away one fan yelled out, "Asshole!"
If you've been paying any attention to Miley lately, you know she stands up for herself. Clearly annoyed, Miley turned around and replied, "What the f**k? Are you for real?"
The incident was caught on camera and later aired on a local news station. It looks like the singer ended up posing for a few more photos before she and Liam took off in their helicopter but seemed less than impressed with her demanding fans.

British singer Adele made Billboard history on Friday when she became the first female singer to be named top artist, have the top album, "21," and score the top single, "Rolling in the Deep," all in one year.
The 23-year-old chanteuse was followed in the top artist group by No. 2 Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga in that order, while Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Bruno Mars rounded out the top ten.
"I think one of the things that sets me apart from other artists who have had the same kind of success is that my life isn't speculated about" by the media, Adele said in an interview with Billboard.
Tye Comer, editor of Billboard.com, attributed Adele's success to her being a "breath of fresh air" in a market saturated with pop artists cut from a "certain cloth," like Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.
"Her success is really inspiring because it shows that there is still room in the music industry for an artist to make it with true, raw talent," Comer told Reuters.
"It's not necessarily always about the outrageous outfits or flashy videos, but an amazing voice coupled with the right song still has the ability to turn the ears of millions of people and keep them interested," he said.
Adele's smash hit album "21," which was described by Billboard's Julianne Escobedo Shepherd as a "break-up requiem," was written in the aftermath of the singer's failed relationship, and it features underlying themes of love, heartache and moving forward.
"I'm incredibly private but I'm also incredibly honest, and I think that creates a kind of 'meet in the middle' respectable ground," said the singer.
The singer's rousing soul and blues-fused single "Rolling in the Deep," which was named the No. 1 song, beat pop and dance tracks like LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem," Katy Perry's "Firework" and "E.T." featuring Kanye West, as well as Pitbull's "Give Me Everything."
Adele, who earned six Grammy nominations last week, was also named top female, while rapper Lil Wayne was awarded top male and Wiz Khalifa was the best new artist.

Adele's voice has given her the biggest success this year — and the most trouble. The singer will have throat surgery and has now canceled all tour dates and promotional appearances for the year.
Columbia Records announced that the Rolling in the Deep singer will have surgery "to alleviate the current issues with her throat." A full recovery is expected.
Earlier this month, the 23-year-old canceled a U.S. concert run due to a hemorrhage in her vocal chord; she also canceled concerts in June due to laryngitis.
The statement said that doctors have ordered the Grammy winner to rest her voice and "completely recuperate before looking to schedule any work commitments."
Adele's 21 is the best-selling CD of the year in the United States; it's sold over 4 million units.

Tragic superstar Michael Jackson slept with a DOLL on his bed, it emerged in court Thursday.
Jurors were shown a photo of Jacko's deathbed with the child's toy lying on top of the singer's white sheets.
Lying next to the blonde-haired doll was a black Bose CD player and disc.
The jury also saw a photo showing the star's chest of drawers covered in pictures of babies.
The snaps did not appear to show Jacko's own children. Leaning against the drawers was a larger poster with the words "Sweet baby".
The previously unseen pictures of his bedroom were shown to Los Angeles Superior Court, where the star's personal doctor Conrad Murray, 58, is on trial.
Coroner's investigator Elissa Fleak and cop Scott Smith took the photos as they searched Jacko's home for evidence after his shock death on June 25, 2009.
Jurors also saw pictures of the bedroom littered with bottles of prescription drugs, tubes of cream and medical equipment including a stand for an intravenous drip.
Murray is accused of killing Jacko, 50, by giving him a lethal overdose of propofol, a surgical anaesthetic.
Prosecutor David Walgren revealed Murray's fingerprint was on a 100ml propofol bottle found inside a saline solution bag that had been stashed in a shopping bag in Jacko's wardrobe.
Jacko's bodyguard Alberto Alvarez had previously told how he saw Murray pull an intravenous drip from the star's leg after he died.
Alvarez told how he followed Murray's orders and put a saline bag and drug bottles into a grocery bag. He said he saw a propofol bottle inside the saline bag and noticed a "milky white substance".

The Black Eyed Peas will not take part in a Michael Jackson tribute concert being held in the Welsh city of Cardiff at the weekend, organisers said.
The band was one of the biggest draws in the lineup for the show on Saturday.
"Due to unavoidable circumstances, the Black Eyed Peas will be unable to perform at this Saturday's Michael Forever event," said Chris Hunt, head of Global Live Events which is staging the concert.
"It is with regret that we announce the removal of Black Eyed Peas from the Michael Forever bill, but I look forward to a great night with other earth shattering artists.
"The event is really getting into gear and is going to be a fantastic evening for all."
Performing on the night will be artists including Jackson's sister La Toya, some of his brothers, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Gladys Knight and Smokey Robinson.
Among the British stars will be Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, JLS and Diversity, while Beyonce will appear in a video performance.
The concert has divided Jackson's family, with brothers Marlon, Tito and Jackie and sister La Toya defending the event and Jermaine and Randy opposing it, partly because it coincides with the U.S. trial of the late singer's doctor Conrad Murray.
The Jackson estate has also voiced concerns about where the proceeds from the Michael Forever Tribute Concert eventually go. Jackson died in Los Angeles in June, 2009, while rehearsing for a comeback series of tours in London. He was 50.

R.E.M, once dubbed "America's Best Rock & Roll Band," said on Wednesday they decided to "call it a day" after more than 30 years of generating hits and selling millions of records.
Key members of the band, whose hits include The One I Love and Losing My Religion, addressed fans in a posting on their website, thanking them for their loyalty and saying they have astonished even themselves with their accomplishments.
"To our Fans and Friends: As R.E.M., and as lifelong friends and co-conspirators, we have decided to call it a day as a band.
"We walk away with a great sense of gratitude, of finality, and of astonishment at all we have accomplished. To anyone who ever felt touched by our music, our deepest thanks for listening," the band said in its posting.
R.E.M , made up of singer Michael Stipe, guitarist Peter Buck, bass player Mike Mills and drummer Bill Berry, have released 15 albums since forming in 1980. Their most recent Collapse Into Now was released earlier this year.
The band broke through the ranks of other rock acts in the early 1980s when they became a sensation on the U.S. college circuit singing their hit Radio Free Europe.
Their debut album, 1983's Murmur, helped them build a cult following among America's youth, and they crossed over to mainstream success with 1987 hit single, The One I Love off the album Document.
In December of 1987, Rolling Stone magazine put the band on its cover and dubbed it "America's Best Rock & Roll Band," and after that came years of successive hits.
"A wise man once said -- 'the skill in attending a party is knowing when it's time to leave.' We built something extraordinary together. We did this thing. And now we're going to walk away from it," Stipe said in the statement.
Bassist Mills said that while making Collapse Into Now and on their recent tour to support the album, the band mates began asking themselves what would come next. They felt that the songs from that record drew "a natural line" between their work as a group and their future as individual artists.
"We have always been a band in the truest sense of the word. Brothers who truly love, and respect, each other. We feel kind of like pioneers in this -- there's no disharmony here, no falling-outs, no lawyers squaring-off. We've made this decision together, amicably and with each other's best interests at heart. The time just feels right," Mills said.

Miley Cyrus thinks the bad press about her is unjustified.
The teen star, who enjoys exploring her sexuality, says she can't understand how she became the subject of so much controversy.
"People have very mixed opinions on me," Miley told lifestyle magazine Prestige. "I'm a great model, or I'm completely inappropriate for anyone under 13 and I'm very controversial. I don't know how I became this. I stay in the house pretty much every day. I don't go out. I've had the same boyfriend for two years."
Maintaining that she leads a fairly low-key lifestyle, the 18-year-old added, "I'm not some crazy lady who's gone off the deep end, because I definitely haven't... Every 18-year-old explores sexuality and experiments and tries things. For me there's no reason to change that."
